Strawberry Biscuits


 

These delicious Strawberry Biscuits are a must have at Sunday Brunch! Simple ingredients and all of your guests will be impressed by these delectable delights. 


2 1/2 cups of self-rising flour

1 stick of butter

1 pint of Strawberries

2 tablespoons of sugar

2 cups of milk


Chop strawberries into small pieces. Place the strawberries in a bowl with the sugar and stir them around until coated with sugar and let this sit while you make the biscuit dough. 

Shred the cold stick of butter on a grater or cut it up into small cubes. In a bowl combine the flour with the butter until crumbly. 

Add the milk to the flour mixture. Mix it in until just combined and try not to over mix it. 

Add the chopped strawberries with the juice and fold them into the biscuit dough. 

On a floured surface pat out the dough or roll it out to 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick. Cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter. 

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet  and bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden. 

Once out of the oven you can add an icing drizzle of the top of the biscuits.

To make the drizzle just combine some powdered sugar with a couple of tablespoons of milk or cream. You can a little vanilla extract if you like.
